About cantia

A social home for music lovers. Log the albums you listen to, rate them privately, write the review only you could write, and keep a record of your taste.

Why it exists

More than a stream count. More than a hot take. More than an algorithm deciding what you should care about.

Albums are bodies of work. They deserve better than a like button and a comments section full of trolls 7 seconds after release.

This is the home for people who still listen to music for the love of it. The album that changed your life can't be encompassed on a 5 or 10 point scale. Discuss without discord. And as with all good things, bring a friend into the fold.

How it works

  • Log the album. Search it, tap it, log it. Your diary builds itself, one record at a time.
  • Rate honestly. Your stars are private. Only you see them, so nobody's watching.
  • Write the review. Experience-first prompts help you start ("Where were you when this clicked?"). Say the thing only you would say.
  • Find your people. Follow listeners whose taste overlaps yours. The feed is chronological and friends-first.
  • Share it. Every log makes a card with your words on it. Ask your friends to review with you.

Highlights, every week

  • Editor's choice. One review a week, picked by Diana, tied to New Music Friday.
  • Review of the week. The highest-weighted review of the last 7 days. Earned, not assigned.
  • Highly active. The most dedicated reviewers, ranked by quality logs with written reviews.
