cantia vs Musicboard

Which is better, cantia or Musicboard?

It depends on what you want your ratings to do. Musicboard is a social stage: public ratings, followers, and a feed built around takes. cantia makes the opposite bet: your ratings are private, your feed is friends-first and chronological, and the point is a diary of your listening life. If you want an audience for your taste, Musicboard fits. If you want a record that stays honest because nobody is watching, that is cantia.

What is Musicboard?

Musicboard is a mobile app for rating, reviewing, and discovering music, often described as a Letterboxd for music. Users rate albums publicly, follow each other, write reviews, and build lists.

What does cantia do differently?

• Private ratings. Your stars are yours alone. Only you see them, so nobody is watching.
• Your data is yours. Delete your account and your data goes with it. No hostage history.
• Friends-first feed. Chronological, people you follow, no algorithmic ranking.
• No judgment. No public scores, no leaderboards, no like counts.

Which should you choose?

Want a social stage for your ratings and reviews? Start with Musicboard. Want a private diary of your own taste, kept honest because nobody is watching? That is cantia.
